Villa Fogazzaro Villa Fogazzaro belonged to the maternal family of Antonio Fogazzaro and was built on the ruins of a building of the sixteenth century. In 1895 the writer set his novel Piccolo mondo antico, a symbol of the Italian Renaissance, written 14 years after Malombra. Thanks to the solitary character of this stretch of the lake, the residence has preserved its romantic charm and was recently purchased by the FAI. It is open to the public as the great villas on Lake Como and preserves the furniture and objects used by the writer. |
